general questions & answers

Important

The Frequently Asked Questions published in our web site are for information only, and have been compiled from a number of sources to give the interested clients of Franklynn Centre an overview of the treatment or product described. They are not intended as a definitive guide nor are they intended replace the advice of qualified healthcare professionals. For further information book a consultation with our qualified clinical team or consult your GP.

What is the first step if I am considering cosmetic treatment?

A consultation at the Franklynn Centre is essential so that your requirements can be fully discussed and assessed. It’s very important for you to know all about the treatment you are considering before making up your mind.

Is cosmetic surgery safe?

All surgery, including cosmetic surgery has a small complication rate, even when it has been performed expertly, so ensure that your clinician informs you fully about risks and possible side effects of treatment.

Will I need an anaesthetist?

Most cosmetic surgery is now so simple that only a local anaesthetic or sedation is required, however, for absolute safety an anaesthetist is normally in attendance for surgical cases. A few procedures still require general anaesthesia and these are performed in hospital with an overnight stay. We will be able to advise you fully at your consultation.

Should I expect a long stay in hospital?

Thanks to the advanced techniques our surgeons and other clinical staff use, many of our treatments are “walk-in walk-out” and the majority of surgery patients return home either the same day or the following day.

Will I need a lengthy period of recovery before going back to work?

It’s very unlikely but we will tell you at your consultation how many days you will need at home before you are ready for work.

Does the Franklynn Centre provide after care?

Yes, 24hr after care is always provided for every patient.

Can I talk to people who have already had the treatment I am considering?

Certainly, we will be pleased to arrange this.

Can I be sure of confidentiality regarding my treatment?

Rest assured, every aspect of your discussions with the Franklynn Centre and any treatment you receive is confidential. NB. Treatment photos suitable for inclusion in professional clinical studies or for patient education, will only be used after prior written agreement is requested and obtained.

How can I spread the cost of my treatments?

We can put you in touch with a fully approved, independent finance company that specialises in loans for cosmetic treatment.
